World Conference on Marine Biodiversity:

The World Conference on Marine Biodiversity is scheduled for 26-30 September 2011 in Aberdeen, Scotland, United Kingdom. The Conference aims to: review our knowledge of marine biodiversity and its role in marine ecosystem functioning; assess the most critical threats to marine systems and consider management strategies; discuss sustainable development and socio-economic impacts on the marine sector; and identify future research priorities.

In the session 'Maritime Spatial planning' there will be two presentations about MESMA:
- Monitoring and valuation of Spatially managed areas (MESMA) by Anke Weber Smit,
- Monitoring and evaluation- Adaption and change in Matitime Spatial Areas by Kate Johnson
